A 1mm ball nose is extremely small for a 24" piece. Usual would be a 3mm ball nose for finishing at that size. Being a soft metal, it requires comparatively less cutting force than other tough metals like steel, titanium, etc.
Webb80mm mount on Shapeoko 3 HDM? I bought a 2.2kw spindle which requires an 80mm mount. Anyone know how the one on Shapeoko website mounts? It doesn't look like it … WebbIt's a DIY project and so requires more effort, but it's by far the best machine available anywhere near the price. Steel frame, linear profile rails, ballscrews. Cheaper than either the Shapeoko or Mega-V for the same work volume.
